Have you ever tried cutting a whole, uncooked squash? It is NOT an easy task.
But no worries, friends! I have a solution to cook the squash whole and THEN cut it.
You can cook whole spaghetti squash in the oven…yay!
This low carb spaghetti squash is a great way to utilize as a pasta substitute in spaghetti or simple add fresh herbs like basil, chives, oregano, parsley and fresh ground pepper.
My family and I love this Spaghetti Squash with ground turkey tomato sauce. It is so cozy and satisfying – perfect for a chilly night in!
Ingredients:
• 1 spaguetti squash
Directions:
1 – Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees. Pierce the squash several times with a sharp knife.
2 – Place the whole squash on a rimmed baking sheet.
3 – Cook for 40-60 minutes , flipping the squash halfway through the cooking time.
4 – When you can easily pierce the squash with a fork, it’s done. Carefully remove it and transfer to a cutting board.
Let the squash cool for 20 minutes or so. You can carefully cut it in half to let some steam escape, just watch your hands – it will be hot!
When the spaghetti squash is cool enough to handle you can remove the seeds with a fork or spoon. Discard the seeds and remove the spaghetti squash strands with a fork.
Enjoy!
